My memory

My memory can be real lucid at times. I distinctly remember what kindergarden smelled like...peanut butter and crayons. I remember what my old town looked like...small and quiant, a few houses and a corn mill with lake to skip rocks. I remember the sounds of High School football...it was a different world in that helmet, the crowd the silence of the tackle and the loudness of the coach.
I will never forget the sounds of my friends at school. The sarcastic Boston accent, the laugh after a funny racquetball play, or the random sound of pity, AWW. I have five senses that I use to interpret my world and hearing is one of my favorites to use for my memory. People get older and start to change in appearance but in the end most still sound the same. Just ask Forrest when he automatically knew it was Lt. Dan outside that studio...he remembered well. If you are reading this and remembering a good time with me just know that I still hear you, and that is my favorite way to remember.
